Your new responsibilities

  • Managing global R&D projects (Switzerland, USA, Germany, India and China) within the Systems and Room Automation product portfolio
  • Direct responsibility for our advanced building automation comfort portfolio consisting of hardware, embedded firmware, engineering software and building automation applications: this includes a best in class Total Room automation, the Siemens Building automation controls with the brand names DESIGO and APOGEE, as well as an advanced thermostat, standard control and sensor portfolio, also being the foundation for a growing IOT and software business.
  • Monitoring the progress of projects together with the R&D managers and the project leaders, providing direction and course correction as necessary to meet budget and schedule requirements
  • Defining, planning and executing the implementation of the comfort portfolio roadmaps together with product management in an agile environment.
  • Budget planning, controlling and reporting for the overall portfolio
  • Managing, coaching and developing an international and multi-site team of project leaders

Your skills and experience

  • Higher education in Electronic Design (including SW development) and/or technical computer science, with around 10 years’ experience in a related functional discipline
  • Proven full lifecycle experience in complex technology research & product development
  • Broad technology knowledge in software, hardware and mechanics
  • High cultural awareness and a sound understanding of international business and industry trends
  • Enthusiastic and coaching leadership and management skills to maintain structure, discipline and processes in an R&D environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, also the ability to communicate effectively with executive management
