Data Analytics Specialist - Internal Controls

Place of Assignment: Geneva
WIPO engages individuals under ICS (Individual Contractor Services) contracts, who are experts in a specific field, as external resources to work in areas such as IP for development, copyright, IP services, translation and strategic projects. An ICS agreement is a non-staff contract and is not subject to WIPO Staff Regulations and Rules.

Objective

The objective of this assignment is to improve the efficacy and strength of internal control, in particular in the areas of Expenditure and Treasury in order to minimize any associated risk.

Profile

Education
Advanced university degree in computing, finance, business management or related field. Additional qualifications in auditing, risk management, data analytics and computer-related skills preferred.

Experience
Extensive practical experience in large international organizations (private or public sector), developing and using data analytics techniques and business intelligence solutions to strengthen controls.

Additional experience in any of the areas of audit, oversight, risk management, internal controls or finance preferred.

Skills
Understanding of and experience using analytical concepts and statistical techniques: hypothesis development, designing tests/experiments, analyzing data, drawing conclusions, and developing actionable recommendations;

Familiarity with data gathering strategies to ensure alignment with organization’s regulatory framework and expectations;

Skills to develop dashboards, reports and to use other analytical techniques;

Good understanding of internal control techniques and exposure to finance related business processes;

Experience with developing/configuring Oracle OBIEE;

Excellent written and spoken knowledge of English.
